How did I improve my astigmatism

August 20th, 2010 wmeng24 No comments

Since my post some weeks ago about the improvement in my astigmatism, I’ve received several emails asking about what I did to improve my astigmatism.

Well, the truth is, I can’t point to any specific thing and neither can my optician. However, I can tell you about some of the changes I’ve made since I started my quest to improve my vision a couple of years ago… I’m sure that the improvement can be attributed to one or more of these things:

Eye exercises – Doing Eye exerices was one of the first things I started doing. Intially, I followed the steps in the Rebuild Your Vision Program very regularly. However, in more recent times, I have been doing the exercises rather infrequently.

Nutrition – I decided to use a multivitamin that has the vitamins and minerals necessary for healthy eyes, such as lutein. I am currently using MegaMen Sport, because I’m so active (swimming, cycling, etc), but you can check out the Occu-Plus Formula or any of the eye vitamins product on this page.

General habits – There are couple of habits I’ve developed over the past couple of years:

  • Practicing the 10-10-10 rule when using the computer… as well as trying to blink more frequently when I’m at the computer
  • Not depending on my glasses too much… I don’t use them unless I have to.

So there you have it… the changes I’ve made to help improve my own eyesight.

Have you seen any improvement in your eyesight? And if so what have you been doing?

Hey Guys…

Just wanted to share some great news… On my last visit to the optometrist, which was about a week ago, she indicated that my astigmatism has been notably improved!!

This is truly great news for me… and I hope it serves as some motivation for others that are trying to improve their vision naturally by doing eye exercises and proper nutrition.

What’s Up With My Eye Exercises

January 26th, 2010 wmeng24 No comments

Hey Readers…

It’s been some time since I’ve written about my actual progress with eye exercises.

Well the truth is I haven’t been doing the eye exercises… at least not in strict accordance with the Rebuild Your Vision Program. Generally I would simple do some basic eye exercises whenever my eyes get tired or feel strained… and they do work.

With my experience with doing eye exercises, I now know that they:

  1. Have my eyes feeling less strained
  2. Improve my ability to focus

I have been giving my eyes the proper nutrition though. In addition to taking a multivitamin which has all the right vitamins and minerals that promote healthy eyes, I eat carrots very often and try to drink at least 5 glasses of water every day.

For those of you that are interested in improving your eyesight, but are fed up of wearing glasses or afraid of doing eye surgery, I would say go ahead and try one of the Eye Exercise Programs… but be consious of this:

If You Don’t Do The Eye Exercises Regularly, Don’t Expect Results – It seems that humans are lazy by nature and much rather getting quick results. That is why eye surgery is so popular. However, eye exercises is a natural and therefore slow alternative. You have to do the exercises often (preferably everyday) and consistently to experience significant improvement in your eyesight.

Expect That You Will What To Give Up – This point follows from the first point. Due to lazy nature of humans, you are going to get impatient, perhaps because you think that you are not experiencing significant improvement fast enough. It is important that you remember something – more likely than not, it took years for your eyesight to deteriorate to the its present state; it is unfair that you would expect to reverse the process within a mere days.

See You Next Time,

William

Practise Focusing

June 17th, 2008 wmeng24 No comments

I want to share another experience with you today… actually it just happened about 30 mins ago while I was driving on my way to work.

One of the things that is recommended when someone is trying to improve their eyesight naturally is to practice focusing…. focus on near objects, focus on distant objects, focus, focus.

I have developed the habit of doing just that as well as  doing my eye exercises wherever and whenever

While waiting at a traffic light, I decided to focus on the number plate of the car in front of me… without my glasses. Now, because my eyesight is so terrible, I can’t see the numbers without my glasses. But I decided to try it anyways. To my delight, as I focused more and more, the numbers became clearer and clearer. Though not absolutely clear, I was able to discern the numbers and when I put my glasses back on, I was able to confirm that the numbers were actually what I saw without my glasses.

This is very encouraging for me and I hope that you find it encouraging too.

So remember… focus, focus, focus!

Another Time for Eye Exercises

June 9th, 2008 wmeng24 No comments

In my last post I suggested that eye exercises can be done anywhere, anytime. Today I just wanted to point out another time when I do the eye exercises.

I am trying to improve my overall fitness and as such I try to do exercises regularly. What I also try to do is…. just after I finish my exercises I would a ten minutes or so and do some eye exercises..

So there you have it.. another time to do eye exercises..

Eye Exercises, Anywhere, Anytime

June 5th, 2008 wmeng24 No comments

Although I try to do the exercises every morning and every night, I am also trying to make it a habit to do my exercises as often as possible.

As such, I find myself doing the eye exercises, at other times during the day, regardless of where I am… For example:

If I am in traffic, I do some eye exercises… I would look at an object close to me and focus on it for about 2 seconds, then I would look at an object in the distance, and focus on that for about 2 seconds, back and forth…

I also often do what I call “stretching exercises”, where I would look left, right, up, down, etc, etc.

The point is, don’t limit yourself to doing the exercises at regimented times… do them whenever you like. In fact, the truth is, it’s difficult to stick to a scheduled program.

You can use these free eye exercises if you wish.

Eye Exercises In The Morning, Afternoon and Night Time

April 30th, 2008 wmeng24 No comments

Since I started back on track with my eye exercise, I have been doing them about 3 times each day.

Firstly, I do them either as soon as I get up in the morning or as soon as reach to work. Then, I also do them just after lunch and once again just before going to bed.

I really hope I can keep it up.

I have also been encouraging my co-workers to continue with their exercises.

Back On Track With My Eye Exercises

April 24th, 2008 wmeng24 No comments

Wow! It has been a while since I’ve posted on this blog.

Well, the truth is I’ve been very delinquent in regard to doing the eye exercises… despite the slight improvement I experienced some time ago.

However, during the past several weeks, a couple of things happened which have led to the point where I see the need to continue with the eye exercises.

1/ One of my co-workers went and did an eye examination. I had inquired about the results and during our discussion she revealed that the optometrist indicated that her eyesight had gotten slightly worst, and that she should try doing some eye exercise to help prevent further deterioration!

2/ One day, again at the office, I accidentally noticed another co-worker staring at a pencil which he held in his had a short distance away. When I asked what he was doing, he indicated that his optometrist suggested that he do eye exercises… because he was slightly cross-eyed (technically referred to as esotropia)!

3/ Over the past few months, I have had cause to spend long hours at the computer… and while doing so, I have been disregarding the 10-10-10 rule. Because of this, I am sure that I have negated any improvements to my vision from the eye exercises.

Based on the above, I have realized a few things…

… Since eye exercises are being recommended by optometrist, it suggests that there is in fact some merit to natural vision improvement.

… Commitment and discipline are necessary to succeed with eye exercises. I can’t expect to not do the exercises and yet see results.

All in all, I have started back doing the exercises and I am going to try and be consistent.

If anyone has recommendations as to how to help me keep myself committed, I would greatly appreciate your comments.
