My Visit To The Optometrist
Well I did go to the optometrist on Friday.
I want to firstly apologise for not updating the blog sooner…. I imagine some readers were anxious to find out about the visit. Anyways, the optometrist told me that there doesn’t seem to be any improvement in my eyesight… I am still 20/400.
So, what does this mean for me. Well if you remember the Commitment I made earlier this month (My Commitment), I indicated that regardless of the results of the test, I would continue doing the eye exercises for at least three weeks thereafter and then have another test done. This is what I am going to do. Also I would have the test done by another optician.
I am also encouraged to do a bit more research on using eye exercises to improve vision.

Hi William,
Sorry to hear about that. I think it would take longer than 3 (?) weeks to see an improvement though. Did your prescription strength change at all? 20/400 seems like a pretty broad range… I would think your prescription can change a little but still stay at that level.
Anyway, I went yesterday to see the optometrist as well. My Rx was decreased by 0.25 diopters from 2 years ago (last year I got contacts, so I don’t know what my glasses Rx was), and all of my astigmatism is gone now. I was happy about that, but a little bummed out because I had hoped the improvement was more. It seemed like my eyes adjusted to the strength of my glasses, since I was wearing weaker lenses. When I started my glasses were around -6.25, but I asked for an under-prescribed pair at -5.25 (which turns out were actually -5.5, as I found out yesterday). My eyes adjusted themselves to -5.75… so I keep thinking that if I just try to wear weaker lenses gradually, that they would get better over time.
Anyways, don’t be discouraged… it took years for our eyes to get this bad, so I would assume that it would take some time for them to heal themselves, too.
Please keep updating your blog, it’s great to read about other people’s progress. Also let me know if you find certain activities seem to help your vision more.
Joanna
Hey Joanna, congratulations on your improvement.
I didn’t realise that 20/400 is a “range”! That’s news to me… interesting…
You know its only as you said it that it really occured to me – my eyes have deteriorated to its present state over many years, yet I expect vast improvements with a matter of weeks.
Anyways, thanks again for your encouragement. I actually haven’t done much eye exercises since my visit to the optometrist, partly due to discouragement and partly due to a hectic schedule.
I urge you to continue posting your progress on the blog. That’s one of the reasons I created this blog – so that people can share their experience with doing eye exercises. If you know anyone who is presently trying eye exercises, please them if they can share there experience on the blog.
Thanks again Joanna…
William
Well, 20/400 just means you can read the 400 line at 20 feet… what kind of improvement measurement were you expecting? They don’t usually measure to 20/390 or anything like that, the next one is usually 20/200, or possibly 20/300. Your eyes could have improved but not enough for you to clear the next line. That was all I meant by “range.” I think the Snellen chart is better at testing vision between 20/10 and 20/100. I was also surprised that your optometrist tells you your vision is 20/400… I don’t even know what I am, they just tell me a prescription. Although, technically, I can read the big E at 20 feet, even though I’m sure my vision is worse than yours.
So anyways the best thing to do is for you to keep a record of how well you think you see. Using an eye chart is good, you can record what line you can read at what distance… example, 10/200 if you can read the 200 line at 10 feet.
Dear wmega,
Remember that ODs are only going to by what they learned in school so try measuring your vision yourself. Remember, an improvement is an improvement no matter how small it is. You said you saw improvements a couple of days after seriously doing the program. Your OD doesn’t have your eyes. You do. YOU know what you can see, not some guy/woman in a suit. My dad always said you get something out from what you put in.
Hi WIlliam,
Before anything! i know this is a big mistake! but my power is = (left -4.0 and right -4.50).
i havent being doing the eye exercises regularly….
but made sure to definetly do it atleast once or twice a day.
Today i thought i wld start afresh on a regular basis , with a proper routine.
So i went to the optician to get my power checked….and though the power was more or less the same, the doc mention ’slight changes’.
He said that it was alright for me to wear power of -3.75 , but since i am comfortable with the present power, i cld continue with the same pair of spectacles!!!!!
Well, this change cld be attributed to the infrequent eye exercises or simply to the fact that i am having holidays , so dont really read books and spend most of my time at home……
Either ways , i guess , i am motivated to do the exercises further.
If not getting rid of spectacles , i wld atleast have a much much more relaxed pair of eyes!
Otherwise, i experience discomfort when wearing specks for a long time, hence dont wear it a lot.
Besides ,it indeed was mentioned, that we must reduce usage of the spectacles.
I hope this is a motivation ,not just to me but to the readers too!
There is nothing to loose, only gains!
Hope the eyes exercises really work
Will keep updating.
Love and light,
Balamani
Once or twice a day is quite regular… I am probably doing it as much per week..
And worst than that… I have been doing a lot of computer work over the past few months…. not good for my eyes.
I remember when I started… and was doing the exercises more regularly, my eyes also felt a bit uncomfortable when wearing specs. However, I never got around to getting a weaker pair of glasses.
Anyways, thanks for your comments and ….
Please do keep updating…
William
My father improved his vision using the See Clearly Method. Mine have improved simply by drinking fresh vegetable juices and increasing my intake of raw food. There are numerous studies that seem to state that improving one’s overall nutrition might assist in improving ones eyesight. I know at my last optometrist appointment my optometrist kept commenting how healthy my eyes were, and they had improved since my last visit. It wasn’t all in my head.
Hey Opal, that’s good news and very encouraging information. Keep it up…
Also, I like your blog – http://healingyourselfnaturally.com/
dear williams,
went to the opthamologist today, following two days of pain and focusing problem.
i still cant believe it , nor cld the doctor believe it.
my powers were -4.50 in right eye and -4.00 in left eye.
the power now is -4.25 in right eye and -3.5 in the left eye!!
that is an improvement of -0.25 and -0.5 diopters!
my doctor cldnt believe it and got my eyes checked twice
nor can i ,since i have been using spectacles for past 10 years now!
eye exercises really work i guess.
hope this motivates everyone.

Also , Opal’s addition is indeed a great boost !
Balamani, this great news….
Congratulations. This is indeed motivating to me and the other readers.
“Eye exercises do work!”
Keep it up…
William
Dear Williams,
Been almost a week since i got the new pair of spectacles.
My vision shuttles between good and bad.Distant objects are a little blurred, since i am myopic.
We have to keep doing the exercises for sustained vision.
How about you? Are you feeling your vision improve?
Also, does only changing the diet or only including raw foods and vegetables indeed improve vision?
Hey Balamani,
I am sorry for such a late response..
Actually, I am very much ashamed…. I have been soooo busy at work and other things, that I haven’t done much exercises since my last post in back in September.
I would have thought that the news that my eyesight improved a little bit, would have motivated me to start back my regular exercises…
Even worst, most of the work I have been doing during the past month, that had me so busy, was computer work… I’ve spent hours on the computer
Anyways, I must thank you for your encouragement…
I have intention of starting some exercises tomorrow… in fact, I’ll start tonight!
William
Hello William ,
Apologies for the delay from my end too.
i had a batch of exams and tests all through the past month – i discontinued the exercises and hence the vision is blurred now.
Though i am not following the “Rebuild Your Vision” program, i believe , what ever the routine is , vision improvement through eye exercises is definetly possible.
Also, i experienced the adverse effects of even the smallest amount of stress , which persons with normal vision and/or spectacles wldnt notice.
Even slogging just for one night (EVEN after ample sleep during the day) before the tests, blurred my vision!!!!
Thus , we have to keep doing the exercises to maintain vision i guess.
Now that i saw improvement of 0.5 dioptres! i cld safely mention the exercises i did.
I followed a very simple set of exercises which can be done at any time , anywhere and dont need charts or such other details.
Some of the exercises which i did are given in the following links :

Otherwise, hope you are having improvements.
