What You Should and Should Not Expect With Vision Eye Exercises

February 27th, 2009 wmeng24 No comments

I have been researching, learning about and practicing eye exercises for some time now.

I have realized that there is a lot of information online about eye exercises and there are a number of eye exercise programs I believe the underlying question when it comes to vision eye exercises is “Can Eye Exercises Really Improve Vision?”

Although I cannot, based on my own experience, categorically say the “Yes, eye exercises do work”… and that’s because I have really been doing the eye exercises with the frequency and consistency that is required for significant improvement, I would like to share the most important things I have learned from my experience so far:

If You Don’t Do The Eye Exercises Regularly, You Can’t Expect Results

Human beings like instant gratification – they like maximum result with minimum effort. That is why eye surgery is so popular. Eye exercises, however,  is a natural and therefore slow alternative.

You have to do the exercises often (preferably everyday) and consistently to experience significant improvement in your eyesight.

When I first started doing the exercises, and was doing them regularly, there was notable improvement in how relaxed my eyes felt as well as my focusing abilities.

Expect That You Will What To Give Up

Due to lazy nature of humans, you are going to get impatient, perhaps because you think that you are not experiencing significant improvement fast enough. It is important that you remember something – more likely than not, it took years for your eyesight to deteriorate to the its present state; it is unfair that you would expect to reverse the process within a mere days.

Eye exercises is a natural and therefore relatively slower vision improvement option.

If You Continue Vision Deteriorating Habits, You Will Negate Any Positive Results

One of the largest contributor to the deterioration of your eyesight is frequent computer use – the long hours staring at the screen puts a strain on your eyes. In fact, Computer Vision Syndrome affects about 75% of people that work on computers.

If you are doing eye exercises, but you are using the computer frequently, then you need to take short breaks regularly… and follow the 10-10-10 rule, which recommends that every ten minutes, stare at an object at least 10 feet away for about 10 minutes.

At the very minimum take a break at least once an hour for about 10 minutes and blink frequently

You Need The Right Nutrients To Help Your Eyes Make The Change

If you want to build muscles, you’ll go to the gym and lift some weights. But you also will need to eat the proper foods, especially your intake of protein in order for you to see those muscles grow.

Well the same applies to eye exercise, you have to intake the proper nutrition in order to help your eye improve proper vision. So what foods promote good eye health?

Vitamins A, C and E and Lutein all assists in maintaining healthy eyesight.  You can read more about nutrition and eye health here.

… And there are special vitamin supplements for your eyes.

So these are the things that I have learned since I have been researching eye exercises.

The more I learn, the more I experience, the more I will share…
