Hey all…

Today I want to continue my in depth description of the Janet Goodrich Personal Eyesight Training Kit… I’m going to talk today, specifically about the pinhole glasses that are included in the kit.

So what are pinhole glasses anyway? – Pinhole glasses are shaped like normal glasses… but instead of glasses lenses, with pinhole glasses, there is black plastic with several tiny “pinholes”.

Pinholes work by reducing the amount of scattered light and allowing through only parallel beams that fall on the keenest area of sight on the retina.. thereby allowing clearing vision.

As part of any natural vision improvement program, participants are encouraged to get glasses that have a lower prescription than is normal prescribed for them. This can be done through a behavioral optometrist. For those of us who can’t find behavioral optometrist or don’t feel comfortable asking our current optemetrist for glasses with a lower prescription, pinhole glasses are a good alternative.

Pinholes can be used for common activities like reading, watching TV or using the computer use, etc. They should not be used while driving. Note that I used my pinhole glasses while typing part of this post!… So they definitely allow you to see clearer.. but there is some getting to use to.

I’ve been spending some time going through the Janet Goodrich Personal Eyesight Training Kit and as promised, I’m going to talk a little bit about each of the items that’s including in the package. Today, I’ll tell you about the booklet…

Personal Eyesight Training Kit Booklet

The booklet has about 75 pages and here’s a peek of the topics covered:

About the kit – this section basically describes what’s including in the kit and how each item is related to the natural vision improvement program.

Intro to Natural Vision Improvement – this section essentially answers some frequently asked questions about natural vision improvement and common vision conditions such as myopia and astigmatism. It also provides a very useful process map, which based on your specific condition outlines which eye exercises should be done. The process map covers myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia as well as combinations of either one.

Understanding Your Prescription – this section explains what the terms in a typical prescription mean.

Self Assessment – the self assessment section provides a step-by-step guide for you to determine your visual acuity … essentially it’s to provide yourself with a starting point for your natural vision improvement.

Transition and Pinhole Glasses – This section explains the purpose of transition and pinhole glasses in the natural vision improvement process… and when and how to use them.

Vision Activity Reference Guide – this section describes in much detail all of the eye exercises in the Janet Goodrich Method of natural vision improvement, such as palming, sunning, tromboning, feather swing, etc… I counted about 15 eye exercises in the program.

Other Eyesight Factors – in addition to eye exercises, natural vision improvement involves proper nutrition and practicing habits that are healthy for your eyes, including how to deal with stress… that’s what this section is all about.

Maintaining Good Vision for Life – once you’ve achieved greater visual acuity, you’ll what to read this section on the habits you must maintain to ensure that your improved vision does not “slide back downhill”.

History of the Janet Goodrich Method & Additional Information – Ever wondered how natural vision improvement came about or how the Janet Goodrich Method started?… well this section answers those questions, plus it provides you with some information on some useful natural vision improvement resources.

Well guys.. that was quite a bit, but that’s what’s covered in the booklet… next I’ll talk about the pinhole glasses.

Hey everyone…

As I mentioned in the last post, I received my Personal Eyesight Training Kit recently, and I wanted to let you know what’s included in the kit. The Kit comes in neat plastic case approximately 22 cm high by 16 cm wide and 4.5 cm thick.

….and inside this case you’ll find the following items:

1. The Personal Eyesight Training Kit Booklet
2. A pair of Pinhole Glasses
3. An eyepatch
4. Several charts and cards  – distance charts, fusing charts, reminder cards, etc.
5. An USB drive filled with pdfs and audios of the lessons (this is really cool!) and some music.

In my last post I indicated that after viewing the videos on the Janet Goodrich Method website, I decided to get  myself one of the Personal Eyesight Training Kits

I haven’t received the kit yet, but I am very excited about receiving it… and here are the two main reasons:

The Contents of the Personal Eyesight Training Kit – this kit contains a lot of stuff to help with the eye exercises. Most notable are  the pinhole glasses and the “Personal USB Audio Drive complete with over 14 hours of detailed instruction & vision activities designed specifically for Myopia, Hyperopia and Astigmatism“.

The folks at the Janet Goodrich Site are really nice people – to learn a bit more about the program, I sent and email to Carina Goodrich (the daughter of Janet Goodrich) and received a response quickly. I was also able to communicate with Dan – the person who gives his detailed testimonial in Video#2. He’s part of the team at the Janet Goodrich Program and helps motivate those involved in the program

So hopefully I’ll get my kit within the next few weeks… I’ll keep you guys posted.

Hey everyone,

I was watching a couple of videos on the Janet Goodrich Method Website last week. The videos were about the Personal Eyesight Training Kit – how the kit came about, what’s included in the kit and there were also some testimonials from people that have successfully used the Janet Goodrich System to restore their eyesight.

Of particular interest to me, was the second video in which one of the users, Dan, talks about how he started doing eye exercises, his struggles and his eventual success.

Dan talked about when he first started using doing eye exercises, he was very enthusiastic and did the exercises everyday!! However, as time went along, he did the exercises less and less frequently. After some time passed, during which time he did the exercises on and off, Dan made personal commitment  to truly give eye exercises a real effort…

….and through some regular “push” from the folks at Janet Goodrich Method, Dan was able to achieve some real success with restoring his vision.

I can certainly relate to part of this story… when I first started doing eye exercise, I was very enthusiastic myself and did the eye exercises fairly regularly, but then I became delinquent.

The important thing to remember is that restoring your vision naturally by doing eye exercises is not as easy as some may be led to believe… it requires commitment, determination and patience. You’ve got to do it consistently and that’s when you’ll see results.

It’s been some time since I’ve written about my actual progress with eye exercises.

Well the truth is I haven’t been doing the eye exercises… at least not in strict accordance with the Rebuild Your Vision Program. Generally I would simple do some natural eye exercises whenever my eyes get tired or feel strained… and they do work.

With my experience with doing eye exercises, I now know that they:

1. Have my eyes feeling less strained
2. Improve my ability to focus

I have been giving my eyes the proper nutrition though. In addition to taking a multivitamin which has all the right vitamins and minerals that promote healthy eyes, I eat carrots very often and try to drink at least 5 glasses of water every day.

For those of you that are interested in improving your eyesight, but are fed up of wearing glasses or afraid of doing eye surgery, I would say go ahead and try one of the Eye Exercise Programs… but be consious of this:

If You Don’t Do The Eye Exercises Regularly, Don’t Expect Results – It seems that humans are lazy by nature and much rather getting quick results. That is why eye surgery is so popular. However, eye exercises is a natural and therefore slow alternative. You have to do the exercises often (preferably everyday) and consistently to experience significant improvement in your eyesight.

Expect That You Will What To Give Up – This point follows from the first point. Due to lazy nature of humans, you are going to get impatient, perhaps because you think that you are not experiencing significant improvement fast enough. It is important that you remember something – more likely than not, it took years for your eyesight to deteriorate to the its present state; it is unfair that you would expect to reverse the process within a mere days.

I just finished some eye exercises, and I thought I would share some things that I’ve noticed with you.

In the last post, I shared two links to free eye exercises from the Rebuild Your Vision Program and the Janet Goodrich Method.

I have noticed that both of these eye exercises allow you to exercise the eye muscle which allow you to accommodate, that is, the muscles which allow your eyes to switch between focusing  on near objects and focusing on far objects. You will be able to actually feel the muscles working

Also, Corina (of the Janet Goodrich Method) suggests that you listen to some soothing music while doing your eye exercise. Well I tried doing that today… and it did indeed help. So try it when you’re doing the exercises.
